Reprogramming of an industrial space for interim-use into multifunctional and co-working areas - KlybeckPlus

The urban district of Klybeck in Basel with its former industrial area is undergoing transformation. The formerly production sites will allow for mixed uses of high density living, working and leisure. 

The once gatehouse "Porte 31" of the former BASF site and the annexed industrial hall K-314 are converted to multifunctional and co-working spaces for interim-use during the urban development phase. 
The Porte-31 is designed with minimal interventions and realized by re-using and recycling materials from some of the former pharmaceutical laboratories on site.
Porte-31 KLYBEQ is a publicly accessible building which serves as a gate and communication platform for the development of Klybeck.
